What services are available at the North York facility?

PMEZ North York offers trainer-supervised small dog drop-offs, private dog training, select indoor group activities and enrichment toy rental pickup and returns. Services are offered on scheduled dates and times, so availability may vary throughout the week.

Where is the North York facility located?

The facility is located at 359 Marlee Ave, North York, ON M6B 3H9.

North York services are available by appointment or scheduled session only. Additional arrival and pickup instructions will be provided with your booking.

What are the 3-hour small dog drop-offs?

These are trainer-supervised 3-hour sessions for small dogs weighing approximately 3–20 lbs.

Unlike my individual drop-offs near Square One, multiple compatible small dogs may attend the same North York session. Depending on the dogs attending and their individual needs, their time may include enrichment, training, rest, play and appropriate social opportunities.

Dogs are not expected or forced to interact simply because other dogs are present.

Does my dog need to be social with other dogs to attend a drop-off?

Not necessarily. Being comfortable around other dogs is different from wanting to play with every dog!

Dogs will be given appropriate space and activities based on their individual comfort, behaviour and needs. However, because other dogs may be present in the facility, this service may not be appropriate for every dog.

What's the difference between a North York drop-off and an individual drop-off near Square One?

North York drop-offs are scheduled 3-hour sessions where a limited number of compatible small dogs may attend at the same time.

Drop-offs near Square One are individual sessions with Carlos and are designed for one dog at a time.

Because the North York format allows several dogs to attend the same scheduled session, it is available at a lower price than an individual drop-off.

What's the difference between private training in North York and an in-home private session?

North York private training is still one-on-one training with Carlos, but you bring your dog to the facility instead of Carlos travelling to your home.

This makes it a more affordable option for goals that can be effectively worked on in a training facility.

In-home sessions may be more appropriate when the behaviour is specific to your home or neighbourhood, or when seeing your dog's everyday environment would be helpful.

Can I book a private North York session for any training issue?

Most general training goals can be worked on at the facility, including manners, basic skills, impulse control, leash skills and other individualized goals.

Some concerns are better addressed where they're actually happening. If your main concern is highly specific to your home environment or another location, an in-home private session may be the better choice.

What training methods do you use?

I use positive reinforcement/reward-based, evidence-based and force-free training. I do not use prong collars, shock or e-collars, leash corrections, intimidation, or dominance-based training.

We'll focus on positive reinforcement, management, clear communication, and work at a level where your dog can successfully learn.

Will group activities also be offered in North York?

Yes! Select PMEZ group activities will also be scheduled at the North York facility, including indoor social and training opportunities.

PMEZ will continue offering group activities at other GTA locations as well, so always check the location listed for the specific session before booking.

Are the North York group activities the same as the ones offered in Oakville?

Some existing PMEZ activities may be offered at both locations, while other sessions may be specific to North York. You don't need to choose one location permanently. Simply check the location, date and time listed for each upcoming session and book whichever option works for you.

Can I pick up enrichment toy rentals in North York?

Yes. North York is available as an additional pickup and return option for PMEZ enrichment toy rentals. Browse the Enrichment Toy Rentals collection to choose what you'd like your dog to try and check the pickup information when reserving.

Do I need an appointment to visit the facility?

Yes that is preferred to guarantee a time slot with Carlos. Please book a private session, drop-off, group activity or arrange your enrichment rental pickup before visiting so I can make sure I'm available for you.

Is North York replacing your Mississauga, Oakville or other services?

No! The North York facility is an additional PMEZ location and does not replace my existing services.

I'll continue offering in-home private training, individual drop-offs near Square One, virtual training and group activities at other locations throughout the GTA. North York simply gives you another way and another location to access PMEZ services.
