Service Description

A 6-week puppy training course for puppies 10-20 weeks old, with one 60-minute class each week in a small group of 4-5 puppies. Rather than focusing on a checklist of obedience cues, this course is about learning to understand and guide your puppy, meeting their needs, setting them up to succeed, and building strong foundations through positive reinforcement/reward-based, evidence-based and force-free training. We’ll work through the everyday concerns that come with raising a puppy while helping each puppy learn at their own pace around real-life distractions and other puppies. Supervised puppy social time is included in each class when appropriate, based on how the puppies feel about one another. All immediate family members are invited to attend and participate. We ask that at least one of the same family members attends all six sessions so there is consistency throughout the course. No previous training experience is required. Ongoing communication is an important part of how we support puppy families. WhatsApp is our preferred way to stay connected between classes, though it is not required, and helpful materials may be shared throughout the course. Support does not have to end when the six weeks are over. If you miss a class, a make-up may be available if another course is covering the same material around that time and there is space available. Make-up classes cannot be guaranteed. We’ll reach out during the week before your course begins with everything you need to know to prepare for your first class. Registration closes once Week 1 has taken place, but if you’ve just missed the start date you’re still welcome to reach out. If your availability changes as the course approaches, contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate a move to another available course where possible, though alternate dates and spaces cannot be guaranteed.
