Puppy Training Classes in North York
A 6-week small-group course for puppies 10-20 weeks old, designed to help you understand your puppy, guide them with confidence, and build strong foundations from the very beginning.
With just 4-5 puppies per course, there’s plenty of room for individual guidance, learning around other puppies, supervised social time, and support for the everyday questions that come with raising a pup.

Raising a puppy is about much more than teaching sit, down or stay. It’s about learning who your puppy is, understanding what they’re communicating, meeting their needs, and creating an environment where good choices are easier to make.
Throughout this 6-week course, we’ll help you learn how to guide your puppy using positive reinforcement, thoughtful management, clear communication and realistic expectations.
Every puppy develops differently, so exercises can be adjusted based on your puppy’s confidence, experience, comfort and progress. The goal isn’t for every puppy to look exactly the same by the end of six weeks. It’s to give you the knowledge and tools to continue helping your puppy grow.
Each course runs for six consecutive weeks at the same day and time each week. Choose the upcoming course that works best for your schedule.

What We’ll Work On
Rather than following a checklist of obedience commands, the course focuses on the skills and understanding that help families successfully navigate life with a puppy.
đŸ Understanding your puppy’s communication and behaviour
đŸ Setting your puppy up to succeed through management
đŸ Enrichment and meeting your puppy’s needs
đŸ Reward-based training and shaping new behaviours
đŸ Healthy puppy socialization and confidence building
đŸ Learning around other puppies and everyday distractions
đŸ Foundations for comfortable leash walking
đŸ Building a strong and reliable recall
đŸ Settling, emotional regulation and downtime
đŸ Questions and concerns that come up as your puppy grows
We’ll also make time for the real-life puppy concerns that come up along the way. Puppies don’t follow a syllabus, so questions and individual needs are always welcome!
Socialization Without Forcing It
Socialization isn’t about making your puppy interact with every dog or person they meet. It’s about helping them experience the world safely, build confidence and learn that they have choices.
We aim to include supervised puppy social time in every class when appropriate. Whether puppies actually play, observe, take breaks or work at a greater distance will depend entirely on how the puppies in that group feel about one another.
We’ll pay attention to their communication and comfort throughout the course rather than forcing interactions just because they’re in a puppy class.
Positive, Reward-Based Puppy Training
We use positive reinforcement/reward-based, evidence-based and force-free training.
We do not use prong collars, shock or e-collars, leash corrections, intimidation or dominance-based training. Instead, we focus on positive reinforcement, management, clear communication and working at a level where each puppy can successfully learn.
Bring the Family
All immediate family members are invited to attend and participate in the course. Raising a puppy affects the whole household, and having everyone understand how to communicate and work with the puppy can make a big difference.
We do ask that at least one of the same family members attends all six sessions. That gives your puppy and your household some consistency from week to week.
Support Doesn’t Stop When Class Ends
Ongoing communication is one of the strongest tools we have when helping families raise puppies. A lot can happen between weekly classes, and sometimes a quick question at the right time can prevent a small concern from becoming a much bigger one.
WhatsApp is our preferred way to stay connected throughout the course, although it isn’t required. Helpful resources or class material may also be shared individually between sessions.
We believe it takes a village to raise a pup, and you’re still welcome to reach out after the six-week course has finished too.
